This concept may be “out-there” but I feel like the United Nations should declare my idea worthy of serious consideration by a Special General Assembly.

My concept toward achieving World Peace - is - Football…

Football may not exactly resemble the Gladiator events of Ancient Times as Hockey does with those odd shaped weaponized sticks, but grass is easier to grow than ice. That said the U.N. should give the game of Football a second look as a revised form for resolving political, social and territorial conflicts.

1.] Countries would no longer need thousands of military personnel for defense only personnel for disasters, and game competitors;

2.] The fiscal budgets of all nations would no longer need to include fuel, weapons, ammunition - though still uniforms, helmets and padding;

3.] And - settling global differences on a Football field rather than a battlefield [besides the human toll] reduces the giant, huge, big carbon-footprint caused by exploding missiles...like Russia vs Ukraine has emitted 175 million Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide/Co2 - and the Israeli vs Iran & proxies so far is 60 million Tonnes of CO2. [You get the picture.]

The slightly altered rules of Global-Football would require a special field, actually several special fields - located on neutral places like Switzerland, Austria, Canada, New Zealand. Actually, knowing human nature we’ll need 3 to 5 countries with a permanent field as conflicts tend to erupt between more than one country at a time.

The winning country may earn eliminated or reduced tariffs on their goods of choice or a percentage of their national debt covered by the losing team. For example let’s have the rivalry between China and the United States settled with a series of games best-out-of-three. The Chinese Dragons vs United States Eagles.

Each team will have the best pulled from the ranks of China and the U.S. — Army, Navy and Air Force. Army generals become the coaches. The quarter backs are replaced by Air Force pilots. The Navy handles Left Guard, Right Guard while special forces take over for Linemen/Centers then Left End and Right End are Regular Army 2nd Lieutenants.

Perhaps by now you’re convinced I need to be reported as a danger to myself and the rest of society—but the United Nations has failed as the hope it once was after WWII—mired in more convoluted politics and side deals than its member countries. uncharter.pdf

You don’t like my Football concept fine - then come up with a better one! But by all means do - because 12,000 years of war has ‘not’ advanced this species of warm-blooded mammals at all…
