People who cut-in-line aren’t well received by others who might fall back a space or two. Those of us who have written for years—see others who use [any] Artificial Intelligence to write or enhance writing—as attempting to cut-in-line ahead of writers who honestly wrote/write their work, on their own unassisted. Truly, literary AI is a form of plagiarism. Because, in order to have a complete database from which AI can draw [for any assistance request] every scrap of writing and/or published work from Ancient Sumerians to Greek Philosophers to yesterday’s Wall Street Journal has been copied—and—continues to be copied!
I liked a comparison from Independent Book Spotlight… Anyone who publishes using AI [at all] then accepts praise, is like-someone who expects recognition as a chef, after they serve a frozen prepackaged, meal - heated in a microwave…

Your point that our books provide even more material for those who use AI to write - is discouraging...so our best hope is for ethical agents, managers and publishers NOT to support AI generated features, articles, screenplays or manuscripts...
Great response Wayne - yup that Genie is out of the bottle and for every 1 person who is ethical and understands AI value for good are about 8 others who don't...Ugh!
