As a former journalist the fun of fiction is that I no longer need to be limited to the space of a newspaper column or magazine feature. However, that still doesn't mean because the core plot is fiction, I can just make up 'anything' [well I could but that's too easy] because factual research makes my fiction plot a richer challenge...
